Playing Xbox for 24 hours takes a lot more than just games:
- Coffee - Since the gaming starts early in the morning, you need to have some caffeine set up to get you started. If you aren't in to coffee there are a number of caffeinated beverages on the market. You can even head over to Thinkgeek and pick up some caffeine soap if you are planning on showering before you start... the showering is suggested since once you sit down, you will only be getting up for bathroom breaks...
- Beer - After the morning is over (by about 10am) you will need to switch to something with enough calories to keep you going until lunch. Beer is for breakfast...
- Snacks - It will be important to keep your energy up between meals. Keep a good supply of non-oily, non-sticky, non-grubby snacks nearby. You don't want something that will foul up your controller so pick carefully. Something you can dump into your mouth straight from the bag or box will work best. Pretzels are probably your safest bet. If you want, augment them with some dip. Beef-jerky will also work well as long as it isn't the super oily/flavor dusted type.
- Meals - Snacks aren't going to be enough for 24 hours. During some of the more quiet moments of gaming (waiting in matchmaking, playing golf, switching games) try and get down some pre-made sandwiches or cold pizza. You probably won't have time to prepare anything so make sure it is close by for those opportune moments.
- Cooler - You will need something to store all this stuff in if your fridge is a long ways away. A cooler might be handy.
- Comfortable headset - The default Xbox Live headset is known to pinch your ear after extended usage. Look into a headset that presses against the ear versus one that actually latches on to it.
- Comfortable chair - you are going to be sitting on your ass for a long ass time. Best to do it in style. If you don't have a specific gaming chair, I suggest moving your couch or recliner right into the middle of the room directly in front of the TV.
- Friends - This is the most important part. A journey through 24 hours of gaming is only fun when you can share it with others. It could be a long day if you don't have anyone to make fun of other players with... no one to share inside jokes and complain about your numb ass or swollen thumbs.
There you have it... a short list of things YOU need to game 24 hours on Xbox live. Can you think of any others?

Here's a few more:
1. An understanding significant other. You'll be yelling at the screen, laughing and generally enjoying yourself. You're going to owe them big time after essentially ignoring them for a 24 hour span. (except for the lucky pairs who game together, damn you)
2. Some Advil, etc. to stave off the inevitable headache that staring at a screen for 24 hours will produce.
3. Set the scene. Make sure that you've got the shades drawn, since annoying things like daylight are bound to crop up and ruin your good time. Not to mention that you'll be able to see your screen better.
4. Get plenty of sleep the night before... or you'll fade fast and hard.

I just have small packets of instant coffee, so I don't have to worry about a coffee part or water... I can just open packet and consume.

So you don't even worry about water? You just pound the grounds?
