Xbox Live Marathon

Hour #14 - 7:00pm

Party over here... sunflower seeds are everywhere. Half opened snacks are hanging out... then there were the hot pockets... oh lovely hot pockets. How I miss thee. I use to eat them all the time when I worked for my dad.

We took a tiny break. Called our significant others and children... wishing them a good-night... ordered some food... but that doesn't mean there wasn't enough gaming to fill and hour... and when it was on pause... we THOUGHT about gaming the entire time.

Eyes are starting to get a bit blood shot... and instead of caffeine we are switching to adult beverages.

We just went through some major section where you are inside some huge animal and there is blood everywhere. It was actually pretty lame... but we laughed.

Hour #13 - 6:00pm

Lucky hour number thirteen! More Gears 2 co-op.

Ohhhh oh... We're half way there... ohhhh oh... we still have our haaaaaair!

So yeah... just running and gunning with the monsters... run... cover... shoot... reload... shoot... cover...

I am getting decent with the sniper gun too. I normally don't play the sniper rifle that often.

Hour #12 - 5:00pm

More and more Gears 2... red bull makes an appearance... the fight goes on for humanity against the Horde. Lots of bugs and brutes to shoot!

We are about three achievements in at this point... picked up enough to get an explorer achievement too.

Hour #11 - 4:00am

Before jumping into more AAA, we did play a few more rounds of Death Tanks... how could we not really? :)

We then launched into some Gears 2 co-op campaign. Riding around on big tanks... shooting big guns... all very manly!

Time to break out some caffinated beverages for sure. There is a pre-dinner slump setting in... and the hands... they are still hurting.

Hour #10 - 3:00pm

Here it is! Double digits! 10 hours down.

So yeah we jumped into Call of Duty World at War, three player co-op. It is pretty rad. You think you get tired of the WWII shooters, but there is still something historic sharing these missions with your friends.

We are going to step away from it for a bit... no sense to spend this awesome game all in one sitting. Lots of gaming left. We will be heading back to Gears 2 for a bit... get some co-op in on that for a bit.

The hands are starting to hurt. Maybe my wrists aren't use to all this gaming. I must be getting soft in my old age.

For the record, the most fun we have been having is still Death Tanks. It is the "sleeper hit" so far that always seems to emerge during these things.

Hour #9 - 2:00am

So Halo was a FAIL. I don't know... that game just isn't our speed anymore. It is a great game if you play it a lot and you get a feel for it... the weapons... the maps... but it isn't a casual game... we felt off speed after spending a few hours in Gears... so we transitioned a bit by heading back to Death Tanks. There is always room for arcade fun.

In fact, we find ourselves playing a lot of Death Tank... with all sorts of fun crazy settings. Probably take a lunch break here... then dive into something like CoD:WaW.

Hour #8 - 1:00pm

Horde mode has been conquered. 50 Levels of fun. It felt like 40-50 wasn't as hard as 30-40 was though. Maybe it was because we added a fourth person near the end there... that probably helped out a bit. :)

Where did we head after our Gears of War 2 madness? Jumping into some Halo 3... how come playing Halo 3 feels "old school" these days?

It took a little bit to get started because we all had to grab the map packs and get caught up with patches and updates. And with three of us sharing the wi-fi... it took a bit. :)

We played some community games while waiting... fire place... RC Airplane.. and this crazy weapon game.

Ok time for Halo 3 finally...

Hour #7 - 12:00pm

Closing in on lunch time... at wave 44 of horde mode, Squidpunch joined up to make it a foursome.

We also started breaking out pringles (buffalo flavor), jerky, and cheese whiz on cheez-its. So rad.

Hour #6 - 11:00am

Gears... Gears... Gears... anytime we do a marathon and we play the same game for multiple hours, it reminds me of Halo 2 when we played the first marathon... and that is pretty much all we played... and it was super hard to keep going through that entire marathon on mainly one game.

Marathons these days are so easy because of all the quality games!

We are currently on wave 37. Hydration is becoming important. Also hand washing because the controller gets all sweaty and sticky which leads to blisters... :)

Hour #5 - 10:00am

Gears of War 2 continues... Horde mode continues. We took a little bio-break and powered up on beverages. We also of course take a few moments to write in this blog (I do).

I am not really a huge fan of the Security map so far... maybe we just don't have the right location... but for some reason river seems to be more frantic and fun... but the security system does help to hold back the tide at times.

As of right now, we are half way through... wave 25... we slowed down a bit as we were goofing off with various weapons.
